Challenge: brand a women-centric business in honor of International Women's Day in ONE DAY.

Result: Challenge completed. Mostly.

Last year, I was motivated by a 10% discount on a latte on International Women's Day to put our services out into the world to create a brand for a woman who needed one. Read all about that here.  Aimee Copeland won that brand and I had one of the most meaningful experiences I've ever had in this business.

This year, I knew I wanted to continue offering our services to a women-focused organization but didn't want to leave it up to chance.

Enter, Atlanta Women for Equality.

Here's what they do.

Atlanta Women for Equality, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to providing free legal advocacy for low-income women and girls facing sex discrimination in the workplace or at school, protecting and expanding economic and educational opportunities for women and girls, and helping our community shape our workplaces and schools according to true standards of equal treatment.

The incredible team at AWE possessed all the expertise, passion, and moxie to make a difference for women being discriminated against due to their gender. They just didn't have the brand to back it up. Yet.

Because I'm constantly trying to fit 36 hours into a 24-hour day, I came up with the idea that Treebird could rebrand and reposition this business in ONE DAY. Were we successful? Mostly! Check out what we were able to accomplish below.

We feel like we've made a group of amazing new friends at AWE, and we can't wait to see where they take this new brand as they continue to do the selfless and critically important work of giving voice to women who have been wronged based on their gender alone.

We had a wonderful time getting to know this incredible group of women. Treebird is committed to supporting Atlanta for Women's Equality and can't wait to see what is next!

Until soon,

Jaci

Jaci Lund
Jaci Lund partner, creative director, designer Jaci’s quick wit and native intelligence comes across as soon as you meet her—and carries over to her design, where she fuses fun and sophistication in just the right doses. With a dual focus on creating original branding for new concepts and revitalizing the look and feel of even the most-established brands, Jaci approaches each project with a fresh and thoughtful perspective. While she recognizes the relevance of current trends, she’s hyper-conscious of the fine line that separates “trend” from “fad,” and tends toward more timeless and classic looks for her clients. Before founding Treebird, Jaci was instrumental in growing the design department at Atlanta’s The Reynolds Group, Inc. Through a five-year tenure that saw her quickly ascend to senior designer and then become the company’s first creative director, Jaci worked on design and branding projects with visionaries, entrepreneurs, and business leaders whom she admires greatly and whose own passion elevates her sense of what’s possible through new design, branding, and communication. Jaci has won nine ADDY Awards (and counting) for her design and branding work and has twice been featured in the national design blog “Art of the Menu.” She holds a B.A. in communications from Michigan State University and completed the graphic design program at The Creative Circus, where she also teaches a quarterly course called “Introduction to Creative Thinking.” To see Jaci's previous work please visit jacilund.com.
