Your brand logo is one of the first impressions you can make on potential clients and customers. It sets the tone for your business. It makes a statement about who you are and what you offer and sell. It displays your brand’s culture, character, charisma, and attitude. Your logo design is on your website, your merchandise, menus, flyers, listings, and social channels.
So, let’s just all agree that it is a very important aspect of your branding and online visibility.
Cool?
Now logo design is not a one-and-done task that rolls through the years with your business without necessary changes. In fact, your brand logo and logo design need to stay current and true to represent your online business and branding at large. A great logo has great bones. But an exceptional logo will alter with the ebbs and flows of the business and the surrounding societal and economic environments.
Key components of an exceptional logo design refresh
When you look at your brand’s logo, what does it say about your company in today’s market? It may have worked 20 years ago when you launched your business, but is it still relevant and concise for where your business stands today?
Your competitors are out for the same clients or customers you are. Research their current branding and logo design before starting on your own.
A new logo design is no simple task and needs to be shared with internal and external trusted peers and teammates. As the process unfolds, show the changes to those around you that can offer a fresh perspective.
Just because your current logo may be a simple word font with your business name, doesn’t mean your refresh cannot consist of other artistic aspects. Wordmarks, letterforms, symbols, and emblems should all be on the table for your new logo design.
Just because your target audience is in a small geographic area does not mean that your brand and logo shouldn’t connect with people around the world. Brand your company for world domination, even if you are focused on a certain region or demographic.
